En una sucinta exposición pretendemos ilustrar el manejo de pacientes con insuficiencia cardíaca tanto en el medio hospitalario como extrahospitalario desde una perspectiva multiprofesional, aglutinando el conocimiento de distintos profesionales (médicos, investigadores, enfermeras…) con el fin de realizar una aproximación integral, no tanto a la patología, como al paciente en sí mismo. Aunque esta obra está especialmente diseñada para médicos de Atención Primaria, estudiantes de Ciencias de la Salud y enfermeras con el deseo de que sirva de herramienta útil a la hora de enfrentarse con los pacientes que padecen insuficiencia cardíaca, la abundancia de ilustraciones, tablas y gráficos intentan facilitar la comprensión y permitir una lectura amena y a la vez rigurosa tanto para el experto como para el profano en medicina vascular. Como novedad frente a otros manuales al uso, hemos incluido un capítulo de intervenciones de enfermería, otro de errores frecuentes en el abordaje de la insuficiencia cardíaca y otro que reproduce los resultados del único estudio prospectivo de esta enfermedad en la provincia de Ourense así como una propuesta de vía clínica de gestión en red entre Atención Primaria y Hospitalaria.
